First Dentist Appointment
Thank you for choosing our office for all your dental needs. We have created a comfortable environment where you can feel confident in the level of dental care you receive.
What to Expect at Your First Visit
During your first visit our objective is to become familiar with your past dental experiences and establish a treatment plan that best meets your current desires. When you arrive for your first dentist appointment, please be prepared to complete all insurance and health information forms.
Also, please assist us by providing the following information:
- Any dental treatment received and X-ray’s taken within the past year
- Specific questions or concerns you may have for the doctor
- Provide dental insurance information at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment
- Bring your insurance card – This enables us to have your benefits available the day of your appointment and gives you an estimate of your costs for future appointments
Comprehensive Exam
Your initial exam lasts approximately one to two hours depending on your dental needs and any questions you may have for the doctor. Dr. Buzbee takes a full set of xrays and performs a thorough examination. These x-rays are generally taken every 3 years and allow the doctor to diagnose the crowns of the teeth for decay, condition of the roots of your teeth, periodontal problems, orthodontic needs and TMJ (TMD) concerns.
The comprehensive exam and full set of xrays are diagnostic records that help your doctor provide an evaluation outlining any existing dental problems and proposed treatment. We encourage you to ask questions. Remember there are no silly questions.
