Find out if Invisalign in Springfield is right for you.

You Have Mild to Moderate Orthodontic Problems

One of the first ways to tell if Invisalign is right for you is based on how much work needs to be done to your mouth. In most cases, Invisalign is a good treatment for any patients who have crooked, crowded, misaligned, or gapped teeth. As long as these problems are mild or moderate, our dentist should be fine to treat them. During your consultation, we will tell you if you are a good candidate for Invisalign as far as how severe your problems are goes.

You Are Responsible

You might be a good candidate for Invisalign on paper, but to find out if Invisalign in Springfield is actually right for you, we need to see if you are responsible enough for the treatment. You need to be responsible because Invisalign treatment requires a certain amount of time per day that you wear the aligners and you need to be responsible enough to clean them regularly. The treatment requires that you wear the aligners for at least 22 hours per day, only to be removed for eating, brushing, flossing and drinking things that are not water. This gives you 2 hours a day to eat, drink and brush your teeth. If you’re a smoker, this also applies to you; although, we do not recommend Invisalign to people who smoke. If you don’t wear the aligners for at least 22 hours per day, your treatment will take longer than anticipated and you may be required to wear additional aligners at the end of your treatment which will cost you more money.

If you can commit to only having 2 hours a day to eat, brush, floss and drink, you must also be willing to clean your aligners and brush your teeth several times a day. Every time you remove your aligners to eat or drink, you must rinse out your aligners and brush your teeth before you pop them back in. Otherwise, your aligners can become stained and begin to stink. This sounds like a lot of work. If you think you can commit to it, Invisalign is a good treatment for you.
